In the heart of Fishtown lies a local burger spot named Sketch Burgers. This brightly painted building stands out as you approach the corner of Columbia and Girard, begging the eyes for attention.
Once inside, the decor is a vast collection of customer-drawn art, and you can smell the aroma of burgers sizzling on the grill in the back. It’s a small place, seating probably no more than about 50-60 customers at a time. During the warmer months, seating outside is also available. At each table there are crayons and paper for customers who wish draw while their food is prepared. This is unique to Sketch and really completes the experience when dining here.

Sketch has perfected the art of making burgers of not just high quality, but also to your exact specifications. They offer a variety of toppings that range from grilled onions to fried eggs. Biting into one of these behemoths is like a symphony of flavor. And what burger is complete without fries? Sketch offers hand-cut Belgian fries with seasoning and your choice of dipping sauce to accommodate your crafted burger. Don’t think their food is limited to just burgers and fries either. They offer a wide variety of food like chili dogs, chicken sandwiches, and mac-n-cheese just to name a few.
And if you’re one of the few who can still eat after a meal from here, then they also provide quite a selection of fresh homemade desserts like cookies, brownies, milkshakes, and ice cream. I have been eating food here since I first moved to Fishtown about 8 years ago, and still love it.

Sketch will always be one of my favorite places to eat in Fishtown. I never had a bad experience dining here and it really proves to be one of the gems of this area. It is a hub for all artists and burger lovers alike. Take it from me, you won’t be dissatisfied with anything from here, so come down and craft your own burger if you ever find yourself on Girard. Just like Fishtown itself, Sketch is one of a kind.
