5.0 out of 5 stars 5-stars! Can't beat the price and quality of this coffee!, June 18, 2013

Howdy! I've bought many orders of the San Fran Bay Breakfast Blend coffee and I must say that I have ZERO complaints. No bugs (as described by other ads) and I personally think the coffee is quite good. For the price, you really can't beat 80 k-cups for only $29 or $27.55 if you select the subscription option.

This particular blend is perfect as it's not weak, but its strong enough for me as I enjoy a bold flavor coffee without that burnt/French roast flavor. To give you an idea of their coffee flavor "strength", this Breakfast Blend is stronger than any of the Green Mountain offerings (except the French Roast) but slightly less bold than a Newman's Own "Medium Roast Coffee Extra Bold". Hopefully that will give you an idea of where this coffee stands on a strength scale.

As others have mentioned, the big difference is in the k-cups. They're not your standard completely-enveloped-in-plastic design, there is a top and the bottom is an open filter.

This alternative to the traditional plastic K-Cup caught my eye immediately because of the price. I have been buying the basic Ks from for years, always pretty much around the same price, and have been eager to see the drop in prices once Green Mountain's patent expires on the technology. This company found a unique way of getting around the patent with these filter-exposed cups. To our benefit, this brand sells more for less, and that to me was worth the try. I chose the Breakfast Blend because I normally drink the Coffee People Donut Shop, which I too love, and I thought this would be the closest match. This turned out to be true, both are smooth and not too strong or robust. Both have good flavor without being over the top. As for the style of the cup, as all others have said, it does not have the plastic canister look, but rather just the filter, which I personally like. Unlike the traditional cups, you get a whiff of coffee just before you put it in the machine,.

I was given some SFB Fog Chaser awhile back and really liked it, but i'm not much of a coffee expert and it was on the bold side of flavorful. So i wanted to try a less bold coffee for my one cup/day. I've found over the years that "breakfast blends" tend to be milder, hence this purchase. I really like this blend.

As others have noted, SFB K-cup coffees are really tea bags with a K-cup top to hold it in the brewer. This seems to work as well in my K-cup machines as the regular cups. I can't discern any difference in brewing. they do tend to hold a minor amount of residual coffee on the lid, so there may be a minor amount of additional cleanup involved from time to time.

This is a good coffee at a good price. if the packaging is better on the environment, good on SFB.br />
afterthought: Keurig lost their patent infringement suit against SFB for the latter's "tea bag" K-cup design. SFB also claims to have a zero carbon footprint, shade.
