A Brilliant Smartwatch Concept That Looks Like An Attractive Traditional Watch

The problem with most existing smartwatch designs is that they are often bulky and not that great to look at—Hungarian freelance designer Gábor Balogh has come up with a concept design that melds the aesthetics and craftsmanship of normal watches with the high tech functionality of smartwatches.

Basing his design on Swedish watchmaker Triwa’s “Havana” watch, the designer’s concept is made to fit within regular watch models and includes a collection of “carefully selected functions”, such as messages, maps and music.

Designed to be paired with a smartphone, this clever smartwatch concept does not have a touchscreen display or voice control function—instead, the buttons and bezel found on regular watches are used to control the interface.

For instance, the bezel can be rotated to scroll through messages or switch across apps—when a selection has to be made, it can also be clicked.
