Canva is a newly developed design tool that makes design simple for everyone. That’s their claim and of course I wanted to test it out for myself and see just how easy this new design tool actually was!
Canva, which launched earlier this year, offers a library of pre-made templates and assets that you can manipulate while also incorporating your own imagery. Users can upload their images and add to existing layouts or design templates. Users also have access to a full library which contains thousands of engaging graphics and layouts along with the ability to customize everything from blog graphics and Facebook headers to posters, flyers and holiday cards. Your final design can be downloaded in a variety of ways from PNG to PDF files. You can publish your design straight to the web and also share direct links to anything that you create.

The site is very well labeled and extremely user friendly. Canva charges $1 for more “premium” assets and graphics found through their image search, but they have so much to choose from that there is plenty of value for free. (Besides, designing important assets would cost you much more than a few dollars through other means).
Canva is currently in Beta testing, which means you can reserve your username, but you will have to wait for an invitation from the company before being given full access and starting to experiment with the site. Once you have access to the site, Canva sends users a new account holders “happiness email” offering assistance with any issues or questions that you may have regarding the website.
