There was another busy week in the world of Celebrity Real Estate this past week with a number of properties listed and sold.
Chris Webber former NBA star and basketball analyst lists Malibu home for $3.9 Million
The retired NBA star and basketball analyst is looking to divest of his modern home in Malibu. Webber has listed the home at 20851 Big Rock Dr., Malibu, CA 90265 for $3.995 million. That’s just a little more than Webber’s $3.75 million purchase price back in 2007.
Murdoch apartment Newly Single Rupert Murdoch Buys $57M Bachelor Pad
Media magnate Rupert Murdoch lost his $44 million Fifth Avenue penthouse in his divorce, so he’s buying himself an even bigger, pricier pad. According to the Wall Street Journal, the 82-year-old businessman is under contract to buy the top four floors of One Madison, a sleek 60-floor tower.
Murdoch is reportedly paying $57.25 million for the downtown condo. The New York Daily News notes it’s the most expensive property ever purchased below 57th Street, but no worries, Murdoch can afford it. According to Forbes magazine, as of September 2013, his net worth was $13.4 billion.
Timothy Hutton Lists Historic Hudson Valley Home
In New York Real Estate, Timothy Hutton’s an Academy Award winner is looking for $1.895 million for this upstate New York getaway, located at 75 Cushman Rd, Patterson, NY 12563.
The historic property features an authentically-renovated 1790 farmhouse with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and modern kitchen. Five fireplaces and radiant floor heat throughout the house help keep New York’s chilly winters at bay.
Report of Oprah dropped $490,000 on a home in Wisconsin for her half-sister Patricia Lofton.
According to property records, Winfrey bought the home in late 2012, just two years after getting to know Lofton. A Winfrey spokeswoman was quoted by DailyMail.com saying, “Patricia’s greatest dream was to go to college and become a social worker. Oprah wants to support that dream.”
Justin Bieber House Hunting in Atlanta
According to People.com, Bieber checked out a whopping 1-acre estate in Tuxedo Park. The sprawling mansion is a massive 16,000 square feet with 7 bedrooms and 13 baths. Size isn’t all the home boasts; it also has high-end amenities like a 70-foot pool with spa, gym, elevator and sound system. Listing agent Debra Johnston describes it as the Ferrari of luxury real estate in Atlanta.
The Chicago Bears’ Devin Hester is sprinting toward a sale of his suburban Chicago mansion
The return specialist and wide receiver is under contract to sell his mansion-estate in the village of Riverwoods, IL, reports the Chicago Tribune. Hester’s 10,000-square-foot home first appeared on the market in April 2013 with an asking price of $2.63 million. Since then, however, the home has received a number of price cuts, most recently dropping to just under $2 million.
SNL Vet Kristen Wiig Lists Soho Loft
The former Saturday Night Live star and all-around funny lady has listed her co-op apartment in New York City. Wiig is looking to bank $2.595 million for the two-bedroom loft—$1.095 million more than what she paid for the property back in 2009.
J.J. Abrams Buys Big in Pacific Palisades
The two-time Emmy Award winner is said to have paid just short of $14.47 million for the 8,030-square-foot home. The property first appeared on the market in November with an asking price of $15.35 million and was listed as “Sale Pending” in December before being pulled from the market.
Carlos Santana Loses Big in Las Vegas
Located at the exclusive Ridges at Summerlin, the state-of-the-art house first appeared on the market in March 2013 for $3.75 million. Following a price cut of $250,000 last August, the rocker’s pad held steady at $3.5 million—the price he paid for the property in 2010. Ultimately, however, Santana didn’t come close to breaking even: the 7,240-square-foot contemporary sold in February for $2.855 million.
