Pupils with Vancouver Island University’s hairdressing program have banded with each other to raise funds for the local B.C. SPCA.
“They only called me and said they wished to support the SPCA and local critters in the neighborhood,” said Nanaimo SPCA manager Leon Davis. “We’re extremely excited. It’s kind of pleasure, I enjoy it when pupils in the university become involved – they are the next generation of assistants and animal fans.”
Davis stressed the occasion is “a human grooming fundraiser, not a dog grooming fundraiser.”
