Try the shabby chic look in your home

The shabby chic trend has picked up massively and lots of people are using this simple, fun and gorgeous look in their home. Popular colours to use to achieve this look are duck egg blue, cream and pastel yellow, green and pink.
It's a romantic look that works well in both traditional and modern homes. Our advice is to start off with a blank canvas - paint your walls white or cream and use traditional style white furniture for the base. Use soft furnishings to bring this theme to life and accessories to finish the look.
Opt for floral soft furnishings in pastel shades - such as curtains, cushions, throws, tie backs and seat pads … but be careful not to overload on too many floral designs. Often less is more!
You'll find lots of accessories available to complete the look such as antique photo frames, plaques and candles.
You could even try to create the 'distressed' look with some of your furniture by re-vamping old chests of drawers and chairs.
