Why should you work with a local mortgage lender?

There are several advantages of using a mortgage lender that is located in your area.

The first, and perhaps most important, advantage is that a local lender is better able to communicate with you.

Yes. This is the age of technology and making use of the newest developments is important in any business, but nothing takes the place of a good face to face conversation. My customers are always free to drop by my office, call or email. I am the one point of contact and there is no need to deal with an automated voice prompt, the last four of a social security number or call center hassles. I know each of my borrowers and can update them within moments on their loan status and what, if anything, is required. With online applications, cloud-based document systems, e-sign and other technological advancements available, my borrowers do not have to sacrifice technology for that personal service everyone deserves.

The second advantage of a local mortgage professional is knowledge of the local market.

When you use a local lender, they have expert knowledge of the local market. For me, that is the greater Scottsdale/Phoenix, AZ area. Why would you use a lender that doesn't know your area? There are intricacies to the mortgage process that are so area specific, it's nearly impossible for a national lender to know all of them for every state and locality. Every area of the country and each state is a little bit different when it comes to closing home loans and purchasing real estate. You wouldn't use a real estate agent from Portland, OR to buy your home in Phoenix, AZ, would you?

Finally, your local mortgage lender will likely be connected to the other professionals involved in the purchase or refinance.

A home purchase or refinance has many different layers and pieces. Typically, the major players are the borrower(s), the lender, the real estate agent, the title company and inspection professionals. When you work with a local lender and real estate agent, you receive a little help navigating the process. By knowing the ins and outs of each part of the process, a local lender is able to keep things on schedule, identify issues and communicate more effectively each step of the way.

If you are considering a home purchase or refinance in Arizona, I'd love to be that local lender for you. Just call or email and I'll be happy to help!
