We’ve proudly shared our previous milestone with you (when the number of registered members passed the one million mark), so we thought you’d join us in celebrating the fact that PropertyShark.com now registers more than one million unique visitors per month!
PropertyShark kicked off 2014 on a strong note, having grown (traffic-wise) 42% from last year, and a striking 264% from the year before.
And despite the fact that our products are most often associated with the New York real estate market, we’re happy to let you know that this increase is not only credited to the addition of new features for NY, but also to our expansion in other states like California, Florida, and Massachusetts.
“Having built a stellar reputation over a decade in the demanding New York real estate market, we’ve learned how to identify and aggregate the data that is uniquely specific to an area. We are now in a position to translate that process to other major metropolitan markets,” said Nancy Jorisch, spokesperson for PropertyShark. “The extraordinary traffic growth we’ve seen in these areas is a positive reflection of how these efforts have paid off.”
Looking back, here’s what fueled our growth over the past year:
In New York, we have:
- brushed up our ownership data, for more accuracy
- added REOs to our suite of products
- made all PropertyShark pages and products mobile-friendly
- introduced tabbed property reports, for ease of use
- added Google Street View renderings for all properties that lacked photos.
Result: a 43% y-o-y increase in the number of visitors coming from the New York area!
For California, we’ve expanded our product and data offering in 10 counties within the Los Angeles and San Francisco metro areas by enabling:
- additional property information
- regularly updated title documents
- our comparables tool, used to estimate a property’s worth
- ownership search (for looking up both individual and LLC property owners)
- Leads – a multi-purpose tool that allows users to compile downloadable lists of properties, complete with property characteristics, as well as owner names and addresses (for mailing purposes)
- and, of course, more interactive maps.
Result: a 115% y-o-y spike in traffic for California!
Boston, Massachusetts stands as the latest PropertyShark-covered area to get a full make-over; but despite its rather recent re-positioning, we’ve seen a 275% y-o-y growth in traffic coming from the area.
