Mortgage purchases hit a 19-year low

What’s happening with mortgage rates? We asked Jeff Lazerson, of Mortgage Grader in Laguna Niguel, to give us his weekly take.
From Freddie Mac’s weekly survey, the 30-year fixed rate moved higher, to 4.37 percent and .7 point from last week’s 4.33 percent and .7 point. The 15-year fixed increased as well, to 3.39 percent and .7 point from last week’s 3.35 percent and .7 point.
