Today, the mainstream concept for architects is all about sustainable resources. Planning and building regulations require buildings to be more energy efficient in order to protect the environment.
Natural Ventilation is just one of the ways where buildings are becoming more eco-friendly. But in order to be used properly engineers need to be involved from the planning stages. Spaces in need of natural ventilation need to be of a certain proximity to an exterior surface, whether it’s a wall or roof.
However, while the planning phase may cause some heads to scratch, it is beneficial for everyone involved as it doesn’t cause the need for modifications late on in the process, or even after the building is complete.
