Great news animal lovers–a new federal bill introduced last week could finally put an end to cruel cosmetics testing on animals in the United States. Endorsed by The Humane Society of the United States and industry giants such as LUSH, the Humane Cosmetics Act would ban animal testing in the American cosmetics industry and prohibit the sale or transport of animal-tested cosmetics. The bill was introduced by U.S. Representative Jim Moran (D-VA), who believes the U.S. needs to match the more humane alternatives to animal testing as adopted by the European Union.
