The Colorful Floats of Fat Tuesday

Today is Mardi Gras and all of New Orleans is booming with music, parades, picnics, floats and excitement.  It's one big holiday party and I wish I were there!
Today is the day that everyone is dressed in bold colors and adorned with long beads. Lots of crazy costumes will be seen parading up and down Bourbon Street.
The colors of Mardi Gras are Purple, Green and Gold and their history dates back to the nineteenth century. Rex, the King of Carnival, selected the Mardi Gras colors and assigned meaning as well.Purple stands for justice, green for faith, and gold for power.
You will see these colors draped across all of the amazing floats that will be traveling down the street as the riders will be throwing beads to the deserving spectators down below.

Now is the time to take advantage of all of the fun Mardi Gras assets at Creative Market.
