Hello-Hello, and happy almost-weekend to everyone.
Today we have some brief Friday Fun on tap, beginning with a look at something very near and dear to our hearts here at the Prepatorium: chocolate.
On this Valentine’s Day we begin with a gorgeous box of Heart Shaped Truffles by Old Naples Chocolate, and a Five Piece box from Choclate Moderne ($16), shown on the right.
Perfect for your Valentine, the chocolate covered strawberries are from Golden State Fruit ($99).
So very pretty, the renowned Richart miniature works of art are shown atChocolates and Figs.
True gourmands can try Passion Fruit Vanilla Bean truffles (left) or Guinness Stout flavor chocolate, both come via San Francisco’s Socola Chocolate.
Vosges has a lot to offer, including gourmet truffles and Organic Peanut Butter Bonbons (far right).
Vosges tempts with other treats, including Drinking Chocolates, Chocolate Chunk Brownie Mix and Dark Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows.
While all of that is lovely, here are two words: bacon truffles.
Vosges has a panoply of chocolate/bacon offerings.
More temptation comes from Christopher Elbow.
Among the flavors at Elbow Chocolates: Fresh Lemon and Strawberry Balsamic, and Venezuelan Spice.
Neuhaus was founded in Brussels, they are best known for their pralines, but also offer a sizable selection of other mouth-watering treasures, like this set of chocolates filled with different liqueurs.
Any of these Neuhaus confections would be welcome here in the corner condo.
The Artisan Chocolate Heart at Compartes look delicious.
Merely reading the product descriptions at zChocolat is enough to send one into a diabetic coma. From left to right we show “An unforgettable Italian Gianduja praliné; handmade with Piedmont hazelnuts and 70% intense Venezuelan dark chocolate – surounded by rich 40% Ivory Coast milk chocolate” and on the right, “Coarsely minced sweet and salty pistachios blended with a creamy pistachio-almond paste, encircled by a couverture of 40% Ivory Coast milk chocolate”.
The company is also known for its chocolate hearts.
They are all so, so pretty, but never too pretty to eat.
As a true addict chocolate lover, I will indulge in almost any kind, any time, any flavor, any shape or size.
But it doesn’t need to be gourmet or artisanal – you can hand me some chocolate covered Oreos and I’m a happy camper.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
