Well, I’m hoping you’ve already bought your partner something for last week….
What I’m talking about is if you’ve walked or driven past shops which typically sell Valentine’s Day-themed gifts, and seen the remnants of merchandise which did not sell on 14 February.
If you love a bargain – and you love thinking laterally – snap ‘em up now while the shopkeepers just want to get rid of them!
Who says those enormous white teddy bears are only for Valentine’s Day? Change their slogan cushion or t-shirt and you can get a different gift occasion out of it. For example, there are many young children who would thrill to have a giant bear as a baby gift, birthday gift, or what about as a get well present?
A heart-shaped box of chocolates? Mother’s Day is around the corner and chocoaltes usually last several months. (Well, not in our house.)
Velvet-lined jewellery sets? Have you got an anniversary coming up, or is it about to be a milestone birthday for your sister, daughter, best friend or mother?
Fragrant rose-scented candles? These are the all-purpose, all-singing, all-dancing gift option for everything from thank you gifts to housewarming presents.
Lingerie sets? Well, unless she changes dress sizes dramatically, you could buy one now as a possible Christmas gift…
