This is just a quick post from me today as I’m heading in to the Key Person of Influence conference. I’m planning to live tweet while I’m there and that got me thinking about Twitter and how to get the most out of it.
when most people talk about twitter they refer to it as a kind of news service, a place to curate and find content of interest to you and people like you. Actually, that’s not true. When “most” people talk about Twitter it’s something along thep lines of “what’s that Twitter thing, I don’t get it!”
For those who do get it, it’s about news and curated content and then there are bloggers! Many of the bloggers I know and who are in our network see twitter as a kind of chat room – it’s a place to connect, share and catch up. I love that about bloggers, the ability to turn pretty much anything into a place of meaningful connection!
my hope is that if you love twitter for those connections that you don’t stop at using it in that way. There are some really interesting, clever people on a twitter sharing really thoughtful and useful information. The key? Follow interesting people!
I’ll be on Twitter today so come and say hi @brandmeetsblog and I’m going to tweet out some of the most interesting people and businesses that I follow so that you can too.
see you over there!
Do you use Twitter? What do you love or hate about it and who should we be following?
Oh and please forgive the typos in this post, it’s pretty cramped on the tram this morning!
